Biography

Ekaterina Levchenko

Composer, pianist, music expert. Currently works as a teacher at the College of Arts (Gomel, Belarus). Ekaterina was born in 1982 in the city of Dresden (Germany). She has been playing music since she was 4 years old and received musical education in Russia. In 2011 she graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod State Glinka Conservatoire and in 2006 from the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts.

Laureate of International and All-Russian Contests of Composers:

• Second prize laureate in the All-Russian Contest of Composers named after A. Petrov (St. Petersburg, 2007)

• Grand Prize winner of the Presidential Special Fund for the Support of Talented Youth (Minsk, 2008)

• Second Prize winner of the open All-Russian Contest of Composers “Russian Music of the 21st Century for Children and Youth. Choral laboratory” (St. Petersburg, 2010)

• Second prize winner of the Fifth Open All-Russian Contest of Composers “Russian Music of the 21st Century for Children and Youth. Choral laboratory” (St. Petersburg, 2012)

• Laureate of the 2nd degree of the International Competition of Composers "Young Classics - 2014" (Russia, Vologda, 2014)

• Laureate Diploma of the 3d degree of the Fifth International Competition for performers of contemporary spiritual and polyphonic music "Polyphonica" (Russia, St. Petersburg, 2014)

• Diploma-holder of the 4th Open International festival of song and poetry authors "U235" in the nomination "Composer" (Russia, Sosnovyy Bor, 2017)

In 2015 Ekaterina joined the Belarusian Union of Composers (Minsk).

Ekaterina Levchenko writes choir, symphonic, chamber music, music for children. She works in different styles such as folk, jazz, neoclassic, academic and variety music.

 

Ekaterina Levchenko, born in 1982, has three specializations: teacher of musical-theoretical disciplines, teacher of a special instrument (piano), composer.

Music by E. Levchenko is performed by soloists and groups of our city, republic, and also abroad (Russia, Poland, Latvia, Turkey, China).

In her works the author mainly uses tonal techniques. Symphonic music by Ekaterina Levchenko is a reflection of a vivid sphere of images. The listener is immersed into an emotional environment with numerous nuances which are embodied in a surround sound space.
